Tennis Class Information
CHECK POLICY: The instructors are independent contractors approved by the facility. All payment for private lessons or tennis classes ARE TO BE MADE PAYABLE TO THE SPECIFIC TENNIS INSTRUCTOR TEACHING YOUR CHILD. If you have two children in different classes with different instructors, you must make out two different checks. Classes are on a year-round program. Fees are per month for the entire month, due at the beginning of each month. Fees are prorated if instructor cancels class due to weather. Classes that meet once a week cost $60, twice a week $120 per month. Junior Team Tennis during summer months (June, July, August) are billed per time attended, not on a monthly basis.
DROPPING YOUR CLASS: We generally have a waiting list for our year-round classes. Out of courtesy for others, if you decide to drop from the class please inform your instructor ASAP. IF YOUR CHILD IS GOING TO MISS THE FIRST CLASS MEETING OF THE MONTH, OR YOU GO ON VACATION you need to inform your instructor that he/she will be here the following week. Otherwise, your child’s spot could be offered to someone on the waiting list.
APPROPRIATE TENNIS SHOES MUST BE WORN – NO BLACK SOLED RUNNING SHOES ARE ALLOWED. All of the tennis instructors have been informed to check their student’s shoes to make sure they are non-marking. Anyone with shoes that mark the court will not be allowed to play. In addition, High heels, cleats, dragging chairs, etc. will damage the upper walkway between courts 3-8. We ask that you pick up chairs to move them and avoid contact if wearing high heels, cleats, on the upper walkway.
ALL GUEST AND PARTICIPANTS must wear shoes and shirts at all times. ANIMALS ARE NOT ALLOWED on or in the facility. Players and parents are guests of the facility and must follow the DHTC staff instructions – tennis classes are run by independent teaching contractors and are not employees of the facility. The tennis center reserves the right to refuse service in select circumstances.
NO SMOKING POLICY: There is a no smoking policy in effect throughout the facility.
FOOD & DRINKS are only permitted on the upstairs deck – no food or drink (other than water) is allowed in the walkway area between the upper courts (Spill proof containers are permitted). No GUM or alcohol is allowed anywhere in the facility.
THE TENNIS CENTER is not structured for daycare. Parents must control and supervise their children WHO ARE NOT participating in classes with due regards to the wishes and comfort of our paying patron players. WE GET NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM PLAYERS ABOUT THE NOISE LEVEL OF KIDS SCREAMING, RUNNING, THROWING BALLS, AND PLAYING IN THE WALKWAY BETWEEN THE UPPER SIX COURTS. WE MUST STRESS THAT THE CENTER WALKWAY IS NOT A PLAY YARD FOR CHILDREN, toys, balls, etc are not allowed and non-participants must be able to sit quietly during their siblings lesson(s).
PLEASE PARK IN APPROPRIATE LOTS – please do not sit and wait in your car in a red zone area – parking tickets are handed out by the Sherriff’s department. During the winter months, we would like all of the children to remain in the building or on the walkway prior to being picked-up. We prefer that children do not wait in the parking lot for their ride home.
